  • Enhance technological competitiveness and expand the OSS market by reducing costs and increasing the opportunity for technological development through CJK cooperation in OSS technology

Implemented Actions in 2005

  • Conducted R&D on each country’s task items *Korea-Secure OS R&D, China-Desktop research & application, Japan-Server test
  • Korea (Secure OS) - Surveyed the current status of open source and commercial secure operating systems and develop standards to be applied to secure operating systems by industry - Analyzed SELinux security policy and research its application *『Research on open source SW secure operating systems』: System security research center of Chonnam University
  • China (Desktop) - Linux desktop pilot project (Ping Gu District in Beijing): Shared the information on the current status of the pilot project in which 2,000 Linux desktops were distributed - Applied OSDL latest Linux desktop and new Architecture Design
  • Japan (Server) - Introduced Server BMT test results and troubleshooting tools for JBoss and DB clusters - Introduced ALICIA, LKST, DAV test tools
  • Implemented Actions in 2006

    • Launched two sub-WGs by technological sector for trilateral joint development - Desktop sub-WG - Server sub-WG
    • Confirm projects for two sub-WGs
      Server sub-WG o Linux Kernel Regression Test
      o OpenDRIM (Distributed Resources Information Management)
      o Benchmark of Data Management System (DBMS)
      o SEEN(SEcurity Entity) Model: Discuss after IPR review

      o Create a TF to analyze Dedicated Linux Desktop
      o Develop common Linux desktop reference based on RPLinux and Booyo specifications
